Is home watch the same as property management?
No. Property management handles tenants, rent and leases. Home watch is the scheduled inspection of a property you are not renting out: checking condition, measuring climate, spotting failures early, coordinating vendors and documenting everything with photographs. It is also not a security service.
Property management exists because a property earns income. The manager markets it, screens tenants, collects rent, enforces the lease and handles turnover. If nobody is renting your home, almost none of that applies.
Home watch exists because a property is empty. The work is inspection and documentation: walking the interior room by room, measuring temperature and humidity, checking water connections and appliances, running taps, looking for what changed since the last visit, and reporting it with timestamped photographs.
Neither is security. Scheduled visits deter opportunists and catch an unlocked door, but they cannot prevent a break-in or a storm. Owners who need continuous protection pair home watch with an alarm and cameras — and use home watch to make sure those systems are actually working.
